I suppose I was destined to write this book. I’ve been geeky since I was a child, when I stepped through the wardrobe into Narnia, rode in Wonder Woman’s invisible plane, accompanied Frodo on his quest, and Impressed fire lizards on Pern. I even made up a magical universe called Katania. I was more interested in books and make-believe play than learning how to give my dolls fancy hairstyles, resulting in a tragic lack of girly skills, which I have somehow survived.
I work for a university, where I have had opportunities to interview people from all walks of life, including CEOs, nuns, doctors, at-home moms, college students, and other interesting people. I believe that everyone has a story worth sharing.
I live in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area with my husband, my daughter, and a small black dog named Vader. You may bump into me at regional conventions, which I attend under the names “Jane Brennan” and “Joy Staples.”
